Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

Conditions:

  1. The specimens must be clearly marked with accession numbers. 
  2. The specimens must be carefully packed and all packaging must be clearly marked with the accession numbers, the name of the site, and the name and address of the permit holder or the Museum für Naturkunde, in Berlin.
  3. The specimens must be hand carried out of South Africa.
  4. The specimens may not be loaned to any person or institution other than Dr Müller of the Museum für Naturkunde in Berlin, for the use of his student Ms Gabriela Sobral, without the consent of SAHRA.
  5. The specimens shall be returned to South Africa on or before the 1st of September 2013 at the expense of Dr Müller of the Museum für Naturkunde in Berlin.
  6. The specimens shall be hand carried back in South Africa, unless previous arrangements have been made with Dr Smith at Iziko Museum and the material may be air-couriered through a reliable service provider. 
  7. SAHRA must be notified in writing of the return of the specimens, and a report on the activities undertaken in terms of this permit must be lodged with SAHRA on or before the 1st of September 2013.
  8. Copies of all papers or publications resulting from this permit must be lodged with SAHRA.
  9. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.
  10. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit by notice to the permit holder.
  11. This permit is subject to a general appeal and may be suspended should an appeal against the decisions be received by SAHRA within 14 days from the date of the permit. SAHRA may not be held responsible for any costs or losses incurred in the event of the suspension or retraction of this permit.
