Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred onĀ Monday the 30th of October 2023.

The 1960 topographical map has two farms called Groenfontein next to each other. The westernmost Groenfontein is now called Amberdene. The farm complex Groenfontein (fig. 13) appears to be the original buildings (with a few modern extensions), and may date to the early 20 th century, if not earlier. The existing access road is not currently included in a power line route. The farm complex needs to be assessed by an architect historian if it and related infrastructures will be affected by the wind farm, including access roads
