This permit is issued to Anton Pelser of APAC for the destruction of three (3) Archaeological-Historical sites which will be affected by the development of the Thaba Eco Village Lifestyle Estate on Portions of the Farm Reitvlei 101IR, City of Johannebsurg, Gauteng. Anton Pelser is responsible for monitoring the destruction of the sites.
Conditions:
- If the permit holder is not to be present on the site at all times, then SAHRA must be provided with the names and qualifications of the authorised representatives.
- Monitoring of the site by the permit holder, or a representative approved by SAHRA, is compulsory for the entire duration of the work undertaken.
- The use of equipment (TLB) is permitted.
- The stones removed from the walls will be re-used in the construction as infill.
- Any archaeological material discovered during the process of destruction will be collected under this permit and the Department of Archaeology, University of Pretoria will be responsible for material curation.
- A permit report on the monitoring of the destruction must be emailed to apmpermitreports@sahra.org.za on or before 31 December 2021.
- It is the responsibility of the permit holder to obtain permission to access the site from the landowner for each site visit.
- Reprints of all published papers or copies of theses and/or reports resulting from this work must be lodged with SAHRA.
- If a published report has not appeared within three years of the lapsing of this permit, the report required in terms of the permit will be made available to researchers on request.
- SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.
- SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit by notice to the permit holder.
