filming permit at cradle of humankind

This permit is issued to Jeanne Lacheze  for a documentary filming for the French TV Channel Arte, at Sterkfontein Caves. The documentary will focus on the discovery of Little Foot.

1. Crew members on site during filming will be Anthony Binst (Director),  Yoanne Perie (Director) and Frederic Swierscynski (Cameraman), Laurent Bruxelles (Presenter), and a guest scientist.

2. Monitoring and supervision will be done by Dr. Dominic Stratford (Researcher and permit holder at Sterkfontein).

3. Filming will take place at Sterkfontein outside areas, and inside the cave where Little Foot was discovered.

5. Filming equipment consists of two cameras, camera support (tripod), and small portable accessories (drone).

6. Filming will take place between 8-13 December 2021.

7. The amount of traffic, i.e. numbers of people on site, should be minimised as much as possible to avoid excessive disturbance of the site.

8. A report on activities related to the permit must be submitted to SAHRA on or before the 31 March 2022. SAHRA reserves the right to withhold further permits if a report is not received or is not satisfactory.

9. Copies of the filming resulting from this work must be lodged with SAHRA on or before the 31 March 2022.

10. SAHRA acknowledges the submitted landowner permission to film at the Sterkfontein.

11. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.

12. This permit is subject to a general appeal and may be suspended should an appeal against the decisions be received by SAHRA within 14 days from the date of the permit. SAHRA may not be held responsible for any costs or losses incurred in the event of the suspension or retraction of this permit.

13. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit upon notice to the permit holder.
