Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

Temporary Export Permit for three bee type specimens

Conditions: 

  1. This permit is only valid if accompanied by the attached Inventory of Permitted Objects Issued Under SAHRIS PermitID: 3375. 
  2. The objects or specimens must be clearly marked with accession numbers.
  3. The material must be carefully packed and all packaging must be clearly marked with the accession numbers, the name of the site, and the name and address of the permit holder.
  4. The material must be hand carried or sent via a reputable professional courier service unless written instructions to the contrary have been received from the repository.
  5. The material may not be loaned to any person or institution other than Prof. Michael Kuhlmann at the Zoological Museum of Kiel University in Germany, without the consent of SAHRA.
  6. In accordance with the application received on 15 November 2021, should any appeal be lodged with SAHRA against the issuing of this permit within the fourteen-day appeal period, the permit will be suspended pending the outcome of the appeal.
  7. Should an appeal be lodged against the issue of this permit, the objects must be returned to South Africa at the expense of the applicant or relevant third party;
  8. The material shall be returned to South Africa on or before 08 January 2023 at the expense of the party referred to in the Loan Agreement.
  9. SAHRA must be notified in writing of the return of the specimens, and a report on the activities undertaken in terms of this permit must be lodged with SAHRA before 08 February 2023.
  10. Copies of all papers or publications resulting from this permit must be lodged with SAHRA.
  11. Terms of the Loan Agreement may not be changed after the permit is issued without the consent of SAHRA
