Changes to SAHRIS!
The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:
- A new & modernised look and layout
- Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
- Improved site performance and stability
Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

Motor City lies adjacent to Munnik Street/R81 in Polokwane, Limpopo province. Motor city: The terrain under is currently vacant land, adjacent the R81, near Thornhill Centre, Polokwane. The area lies below a known archaeological site that has been preserved. Power cable: The proposed power cable for the motor city is to run alongside De Wet Drive, to the side of the Ndebele site which is located on a hill close to the development area.
According to the most recent Iron Age archaeological cultural distribution sequences by Huffman (2007), this area falls within the distribution area of various cultural groupings originating out of both the Urewe Tradition (eastern stream of migration) and the Kalundu Tradition (western stream of migration).Polokwane has a rich history of archaeological occupation, especially related to the Letaba facies these sites bear testimony to Ndebele history.
