Site Comments:

This site consists of the ruins of several buildings and livestock enclosures, all rectangular in shape. It is mostly built from stone with little mortar in between, but some of the structures are built from cement. The latter are most likely younger than the former. The buildings are most likely older than 60 years and may be either the historical farm or just an area with outbuildings and livestock enclosures. It does seem as if the original farm house is on a different portion of the farm which was not included in the study area.

The structures form part of an earlier farming tradition, but not the oldest in the vicinity. It also is not very unique. Therefore it is regarded as having a medium cultural significance. The field rating thereof is General protection Grade B (IV B). The site may be destroyed, but only having been properly documented in a Phase II heritage study. However, there is a possibility that the mining activities would not go into this area. Should that be the case the structures should be left as they are in situ.
