Site Comments:
The field survey identified one burial site along the proposed Panbuilt Interchange Upgrade site. The site consists of Fifty (57) graves recorded during the survey. The site is associated with a historic homestead and St Andrews school, which are all within the development footprint. All the graves are traditional graves marked by oval shaped stone piles with head stones. Three graves are marked by tombstones and and inscribed headstones. Five (5) graves are marked by concrete crosses manifesting their Christian background. According to the social facilitator of the project, all the graves are known and the site has been kept in good condition. The developer is therefore compelled to engage with the affected families and negotiate for the relocation of the affected graves in accordance with the NHRA and the Human Tissue Act.
