Changes to SAHRIS!
The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:
- A new & modernised look and layout
- Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
- Improved site performance and stability
Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

The only sites found in the larger area are a large (formal) cemetery close to the township area, as well as an informal older graveyard situated outside of the study area as well. It is envisaged that the large cemetery will be formalized (fenced-in) as part of the proposed township development in any case. The protection of the smaller informal graveyard located some distance away from the study area needs to be considered should future expansions in residential settlement in the area are proposed to take place. Fencing-in the site can be done to provide it protection from indirect impacts such as vandalism.
