Site Comments:

The stone artifacts identified on the site were found in one area measuring around 50m between finds. Only three possible artifacts were recovered. These were all isolated finds with no associated material – such as cores or flakes – implying manufacture. Two of the tools are formed by from some form of Cryptocrystalline Silicate and are both scrapers while the third is made from locally occurring felsic, igneous rock and is possibly part of a blade. It is possible that these artifacts can possibly be connected to the Swartkops Industry further to the south. The area where the artifacts were found was a gradually sloping area with low vegetation that could be described as Nama-Karoo Biome vegetation. The area has been subject to severe erosion suggesting that the artifacts might have been displaced from their original location.
