Changes to SAHRIS!
The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:
- A new & modernised look and layout
- Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
- Improved site performance and stability
Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

Dwelling
inspected: September 1982
Double storey, SW corner unit contains fabric of original Breakwater Convict Station. Plastered bluestone (shown unplastered in c1890 photograph), pitched corrugated iron roof (hipped roof visible on AG 3434, was probably Welsh slate), small hardwood sashes on Portswood Road, heavy framed inward opening hardwood casement to south face, bluestone street gutter. Large double storey section appears basically unchanged from c1890 records. Dressed bluestone, hipped asbestos cement roof, reticulated plaster quoins and surrounds to large pane horned sashes. Portswood Road façade plastered, corbelled chimney. (Rennie)
