Changes to SAHRIS!
The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:
- A new & modernised look and layout
- Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
- Improved site performance and stability
Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

History: The Sendinggestig, which is the oldest indigenous mission church in the country, was erected shortly after the establishment of the South African Mission Society in 1799. The building was completed early in 1804 and consecrated on 15 March 1804 by the Rev. J. P. Serrurier. Architecturally the church is also unique, among other things as the only example of a building with a pitched roof of lime concrete in South Africa. The facade with its baroque characteristics and Corinthian pilasters, as well as the 1824 pulpit and the organ, are also particularly noteworthy.
