Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

History: This Victorian building with its neo-Classical features was designed by J. Laughton and was named after Queen Victoria to commemorate her sixtieth year as Queen of the British Empire. The cornerstone of the building was laid on 21 June 1897 and since its completion the building has been in continuous use as a drill hall.
