History: The asymmetrical house was presumably erected in 1863 by C. F. Beyers. The gable depicts the simple lines of the penultimate phase of the Cape Dutch architectural style.

Granted to Henning Villion in 1712, as payment of a debt owed him a certain Willem Hendriksz van Brantwyk, there is record of a house existing at that time. Nothing of this early house, however, is known. In 1762, the farm was acquired by Jan de Villiers of Boschendal, and transferred to his son, David. along with Zondernaam The present homestead, dated 1863, was probably built by C. F. Beyers in that year, though transfer to him is dated 1864
Visual Description: It is a good example of a late house, although the houses of this period have lost the elegance and disciplined proportions of the earlier ones. It has a rectangular plan. 2 rooms deep, and the gable is square and pedimented. It has a greater height than the earlier gables as a result of the greater roof-span, but its simplicity prevents it from becoming top-heavy. The gable and the front door underneath are placed asymmetrically.
