History:
Visual Description: The headquarters of the Prince Alfred's Guard Regiment, one of the oldest volunteer regiments in the country. The building has a central section with symmetrical side projections, in the Beau Art tradition. The Edwardian facade is an addition to the Victorian Hall while the Castle Hill facade is Victorian utilitarian and much simpler. The building has elaborate plaster detailing, ornamentation and rustication and adds to the character of the street.
