Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

History: A pair of semi-detached dwellings built in the garden of Studland in 1897. The architect was Vixseboxse, once State Architect, first in the Transvaal Republic and later in the Orange Free State
Visual Description: A pair of semi-detached dwellings built in the garden of Studland in 1897. The architect was Vixseboxse. The building is plastered and. the front wings are painted in imitation of red face brick, while the gables have Queen Ann type wood ornamentation. Each wing has a pair of high narrow windows 1 x 1 sashes and heavy lintels. Between the wings is a wooden verandah with corrugated iron roof and wooden supports and brackets. The balustrades are plastered masonry. Behind the verandah are 2 x 2 sash windows with louvred shutters and 6 panel entrance doors with plain fanlights. At the back are 4 panes old casement windows and on the left side is a fine wrought iron railing. The front has a very high foundation with masonry steps and wall. The inside has 4 panel doors and the dining room has a fine fireplace with wooden surrounds.
