Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

History: Carbon datings indicate that this Iron Age site dates from about A.D. 480, which makes it one of the earliest known dwelling-places of food producers south of the Limpopo. A great number of hut floors, iron-smelting furnaces and artefacts have been exposed here, as well as the remains of several individuals. (
