History: At least part of the wall was in existence when the farm was acquired by the Symmons family in 1870 and was probably completed to its present form c1880
This dolomite wall was presumably erected during the period 1870-1880 as boundary between the farms Tamboekies Kraal (Glenbello) and Zuurbraak (Stockton): representative of a method of defining and securing boundaries before introduction of fencing. Tamboekies Kraal and Zuurbraak.
The Boers, after the ambush on the Frere armoured train on 15 November, decided to push south to occupy highground - especially Brynbella Hill (now Harris). The British were forced back on 22 and 23 November.
Visual Description: Undressed dolorite boulders, comparatively narrow, approx 5ft high and in several places capped.
