Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Archive Import: Collingham Shelter's deep and well preserved deposit has afforded archaelogists a very rare opportunity to study an exceptionally detailedand representative depiction of life on the Natal protea savanna ove a short period duringthe incom
History:Contains an approx 50cm deep deposit, 80-90% of which accumulated in a 150year period around 1800m years ago. Subsequent occupations resulted in thin deposits dating to around 100 and 700 years before present. The final occupation may have incom.
Visual Description: North-facing. In the Clarens Formation at an altitude of 1800m. The ceiling has collapsed, was removed to allow access to the deposit. Pieces of painted rock occured in the deposit. The excavator identified 19 difference stratigraphic units.
