Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Archive Import: Historical and architecturalinterest- This crucifix church was erected in 1867 by German settlers who moved to New Hanover from Bergthiel's settlement at New Germany.
History:
Visual Description: Alterations: Cement plastered high steeple added in 1885; original thatched roof replaced by corrugated iron: gallery for chair and organ built in 1884: extensions 1900 when congregation expanded by influx of 'refugees'from Northern Natal during Anglo-Boer War.
