Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Archive Import: Significance: This building is the best preserved and themost impressive surviving example of a vernacular form of architecture which is notedfor the use of shaleand which was unique to the British settlers of the Richmond district.
History: Acquired by local authority 1982 for institution of museum. Former Presbyterian manse.
Visual Description: L-shaped villa of medium pitched roof flared over veranda and projecting side gable of steeper pitch. Lean-to-extensionto rear. Sliding sash windows and shutters. Simple profile veranda brackets.
