Changes to SAHRIS!
The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:
- A new & modernised look and layout
- Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
- Improved site performance and stability

From Vryheid take the first turn-off into Utrecht and travel down vanRooyen Street. Turn right into Church Street. Archive Import: Significance: Historical and architectural interest: the original portion of this house is one of the earliest buildings in Utrecht: it is intimately connected with the important role played by the Uys family in the ZAR and Colony of Natal:has group value.
History: The house seems to have been built in the 1860s, and was definitely in existence in 1879. The Uys family played an important role in the ZAR and the Colony of Natal during the late 1800s to early 1900s. It was the home of Swart Dirk Uys, first commandant of Utrecht appointed by the ZAR in November 1855, four years before the district became incorporated into the Transvaal. This appointment almost ledto Civil War in October 1858. The facade in the work of Senator Jacobus Johannes Uys, son of Wessel Hendrik Uys, who was the first member for Utrecht of the Executive Council of the Transvaal, elected as such in 1859.
