Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

The site WBK3 Colonial Period ruins, Its locality indicates the rough locale where Lindsay Weiss, University of Columbia, New York, started excavations in 2005 on what is referred to as the Wildebeest Kuil 3 & 4 Colonial Period sites, including the remains of an early hotel. Ruined remains of the hotel is still visible immediately north-east of the Wildebeest Kuil Rock Art  Centre.
