The foundation remains of a homestead are situated here. It is associated with a number of black wattle trees. All that remains of the homestead are the low foundation walls of a multiroomed dwelling with some cultural material in the form of glass and metal objects associated with the structure. On the First Edition of the 2628BB Topographical Sheet a hut is indicated in close proximity to this feature. This map was surveyed in 1965 which indicates that the site was already in
existence in 1965 and as a result is at least 48 years old. Based on the information that is presently available, it would appear that the structure was built and used by black people, possibly black farm workers. Past experience has shown that in some cases stillborn babies were buried in close proximity to the homes of their parents and aspecially along the sides of the parents’ dwelling. This seems to be especially true for older sites. As this site was abandoned some time ago, no direct information with regards to the presence (or not) of stillborn graves are presently available.
