Changes to SAHRIS!
The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:
- A new & modernised look and layout
- Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
- Improved site performance and stability
Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

A large shell midden occur on a remnants sand dune between row of historic tin house and Maarine diesel and electronics in the harbour area. The archaeological site has been heavily impacted on several degrade as a results of pedestrian activity post hole and Telkom excavations widespread littering and activities and related to the surrounding harbour development but largely in tact wit much situ shellfish present, Crushed an fragmented shellfish is visible both top of the dune as well as in eroded and damaged sections of dune alongside the road next to Marine Diesel and Electronics. The shellfish is dominated by Scutellastra and Cymbula sp with black mussel occurring, Several quartz flakes and one silcrete flake was also found. No pottery was noted. There is also evidence of more recent layering of modern shellfish and domestic litter. The archaeological may quite possibly be last remaining dune shell midden in St. Helena Bay with much of the shoreline area already having been transformed as results of residential development.
