Case Type:

ProposalDescription:

The two new chambers proposed in the garden at the old tree – as you have seen the roots have damaged the pipeline to the NCOP building. We planning to build a chamber on either end of the garden, Encase a new sleeve in concrete and replace the old AC water pipe with a new HDPE plasson pipe. This will protect the pipe from being damaged by the roots in future. It will also make it easier to replace the pipe if there should be a burst. Second proposal Drawings 3 & 4) Proposed P.R.V. Chamber in the road at the exit of Parliament is due to safety concerns. We have seen vandalism on the Municipal meters on the outside of Parliament. The importance of building a P.R.V. (Pressure Reducing Valve) is to be able to lower the pressure of water coming from the municipality line which is currently at 7,5bar to 3.5bar and it will minimize burst pipes. Currently Parliament is one of the Facilities using a lot of water with leaks added and we really need to stop this ASAP
