ProposalDescription:

Application for urgent rescue of human remains exposed during construction along Road D4182 Chainage 5440, Serafa Village, Farm Surbiton 115/0, Sekhukhune District, Limpopo Province.

Expanded_Motivation:

The application was triggered by the accidental exposure of unmarked and previously unknown burials along Road 4182 in Limpopo.Construction work around the site was accordingly suspended. The matter has created tension because it has delayed completion of the road which the community is anxiously looking forward to. The local SAPS endorsed the application and warned against potential theft of the remains if relocation is delayed. The local community is worried about the exposure of remains which they say will bring misfortunes on the road. The remains are also at risk of being eroded if it continues to rain in the area. The traditional authority endorsed the application and instructed that the remains be relocated as a matter of urgency because the issue is now causing tension in the village.
