Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Expanded_Motivation: 

Application has been made to the Minister of Mineral Resources to amend the Mining Right for the Ballito Crushers (Pty) Ltd dolerite quarry near Shakaskraal, in the Stanger Magisterial District, KwaZulu-Natal Province. The applicant proposes an extension of the quarry onto land adjacent to the southern boundary of the approved Mining Area on the same property, Portion 28 of the farm Lower Oaklands No. 16728, in terms of Section 102 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act, 2002 (Act No. 28 of 2002) as amended by Section 72 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Amendment Act, 2008 (No. 49 of 2008). The draft amended Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Management Programme documents describing the proposed extension of the quarry area are available for inspection at the Shakaskraal Public Library. Interested and affected parties are requested to register their interest in this matter, in a written submission addressed to the contact person below, by 5 February 2017.
