Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Basic Assessment for the Dani Property Trust commercial poultry enterprise. Key components of the proposed project include: Clearance of more than 300 square metres of indigenous vegetation within a watercourse;

Expanded_Motivation: 

development and related operations of a poultry facility and the construction of an associated worker house located adjacent to the proposed chicken broiler house; and development of a bridge within a watercourse. The project is taking place on 3 ha of the 21.4 ha Jakkalsdans Farm 243, portion 81 in Pretoria Rural, Gauteng. Dani Property Trust is a chicken farming enterprise, located on Portion 81 of Jakkalsdans Farm 243 in Bronkhorstspruit District, 40 km from Pretoria, Gauteng (figure 1 below). The Trust plans to construct a small chicken broiler production farm on approximately 3 ha of the 21.4 hectare farm. The plan is to start with 1 500 broiler chickens with the aim to produce an output of 80 000 chickens per six week cycle, around 40 000 chickens to be housed at any given time. The development triggers listed activities in terms of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations, Government Notice Regulations (GNR) 983 and 985 of 8 December 2014 promulgated under the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA) (Act no 107 of 1998). In terms of the said Regulations, a Basic Assessment (BA) should be undertaken for the proposed project. The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is the Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) who will be managing the process.
