Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Expanded_Motivation: 

Authorisation has been granted by the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (Ref No 14/12/16/3/3/1/1151/AM3) to extend the validity period of the EA from 8 August 2021 expiry date to 8 August 2024 expiry date, as well as an update of the contact person of the holder of the Environmental Authorisation (EA) to Ms Karen Low, as the previous contact person is no longer employed by juwi Renewable Energies. The correction of the description of three of the properties in the EA, over which the line traverses, has also been approved, as per the exact description in the properties’ title deeds. The fourth amendment applied for, to update the listed activities in order to align them with current legislation, was refused on the basis that the original EA and the authorised listed activities therein are still valid, as per Regulation 52 of the EIA Regulations, 2014, as amended) and, as such, there is no need to amend them.
