Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

The proposed project is located on Portion 2, and 4 – 35 of farm Waagfontein 89 JQ, situated in the local district of Bojanala Platinum, North West Province, South Africa. As part of the Basic Assessment process, an environmental authorisation is required. The need of the Basic Assessment process was determined through envisaged environmental impacts at the proposed locality that would need to be assessed and mitigation measures to be put in place prior to activity commencement. As such, there would be several environmental specialist studies would be undertaken so to assess the envisaged impacts that might arise with the establishment of the proposed development. Below are the proposed specialist studies that would form part of the Basic Assessment process: • Biodiversity Assessment; and • Wetland (Surface Water) Assessment

Opeo Resources (Pty) Ltd is compiling an Environmental Authorisation for prospecting right for Platinum Group Metals (PGM) and Chrome, on farm Waagfotein 89 JQ within Bojanala Platinum District Municipality, North West Province, South Africa. It is a requirement in terms of section 16 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resource Development Act (MPRDA) (Act of 28 of 2002) and section 41 of EIA Regulations that we notify all land owners or lawful occupiers and any affected parties of the Prospecting right application for Opeo Resources) (Pty) Ltd. Interested and affected parties (I&APS) are invited to provide written comments quoting the reference number. I&APS must provide their comments together with their name, contact details (preferred methods of notification e.g. e-mail address or fax number) and an indication of any direct business, financial, personal or any other interest which they have in the application to the contact person indicated below within 30 days (from the date of the receipt of this notice letter.
