Development Type:

ProposalDescription:

The length of the line is 1064.9827m long. The project area is Mabintane Village which is under the administration of Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality, Sekhukhune District, Limpopo.

Expanded_Motivation:

The purpose of the deviation is to be able to provide a T-Off point for the newly built households in the Mabintane Village. It is a residential area with infrastructure such as roads, power lines and telecommunication lines. Given the observation that the area is already developed; Eskom LOU would like to request the Heritage Compliance Agency to exempt this project from full heritage assessment studies or any further AIA/HIA studies and grant us permission to proceed with the development as proposed. However, should any of the heritage resources, including graves or human remains be encountered or discovered during construction, Eskom shall immediately cease construction, inform SAHRA office, other relevant Departments and contract a professional archaeologist to inspect the findings and conduct investigation as prescribed by the Act.
