Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Ethembeni electrification

ProposalDescription: 

To electrify 365 stands in the Ethembeni villiage. In order to get electricity to the township, a +- 784m Low Voltage (LV) line will have to T-off from the existing Burchell FM 22kV structure 57-3 structure. The +- 784 m LV line will run just outside the township. A fenced gravedyard is also in the area but will not be affected in anyway, all development will be outside the fenced graveyard.

Expanded_Motivation: 

A need for electricity has been identified for the Ethembeni township in the Siyathemba municipality area. The project has been identified as one of the high priority needs of the community by the Integrated Development Plan of the District Municipality. The projects is deemed as an integral part of the development strategy for this area which is aimed at improving the general standard of living. Due to the urgency and high priority of the project, the project has been scheduled to start construction in September 2019.
