Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

ProposalDescription: 

The Abaqulusi Local Municipality proposes the construction of 828 residential units and 172 infill housing units as well as ancillary infrastructure, such as water, sewerage, electricity and roads to service the proposed development. The site for the proposed development is owned by the Mnyati Trust and a process to transfer the property under the ownership of the ALM is presently underway. Proposed 170 hectare housing development on Portions 2 and 11 of the Farm Bloemendal No. 18, near Vryheid, KwaZulu-Natal.

Expanded_Motivation: 

The following landuses are proposed viz, residential, community facility, commercial, community gardens, grazing land and a proposed primary school.The type of housing, densities, roads and services infrastructure that will be required for the proposed development will be discussed in more detail in the forthcoming Draft EIR. The main access into site will be provided from the existing Road P274. Internal access roads will also be provided for the proposed development. The proposed Vumani Rural Housing Development is the result of the successful land claim, whereby the properties have been transferred to the KwaMnyati Community Trust. The site for development of the Vumani Rural Housing Project was selected by the Ward Councilor in collaboration with the Mnyati Community Trust for the benefit of providing formal housing to the local community.
