Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Expanded_Motivation: 

The Applicant, Forde Inchgarth Dairies CC, proposes the cultivation of approximately 50 ha of land, located on Dublin No. 2 9929, Inchgarth Farm, within the Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma Local and Harry Gwala District Municipality, Himeville, KwaZulu-Natal. The proposed project comprises the following components: • The cultivation of approximately 50 ha of land; • Potential implementation of wetland rehabilitation measures; and • Potential implementation of biodiversity rehabilitation measures. Inchgarth Farm is located south of the Pevensy Road in Himeville and totals approximately 1135 ha in extent. It is surrounded by agricultural activities, where dairy farming is the predominant agricultural activity. The proposed study site is located at GPS coordinates 29°43'42.84" S and 29°32'47.51" E. It is currently used for baling, and is proposed to be cultivated to dryland maize. The maize is proposed to be harvested for silage and fodder for the dairy cows. The proposed study site falls within the T51E quaternary catchment and the Pongola to Mtamvuna Water Management Area (WMA). It is characterised by the Drakensberg Foothill Moist Grassland (Gs) vegetation type which falls under the Sub-Escarpment Grassland Group 5 bioregion.
