Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

ProposalDescription: 

Dr Marco Pavia is borrowing Early Pliocene raptor and shorebird fossils for taxonomic and morphological analyses. This study will go someway to completing the study of the top avian predators while that of the shorebirds will provide information about the less well known African Neogene shorebirds and their palaeoecology. The fossil material was collected from the West Coast Fossil Park (Langebaanweg), Western Cape and currently housed at Iziko South African Museum.

Expanded_Motivation: 

Dr Marco Pavia, to take specimens of diurnal raptors, parrots, swifts and reptiles out on loan to continue his study on them(see list attached).The specimens belong to our Langebaan Weg collection, to which Dr Pavia has continuously contributed by updating identifications and assisting with re-organising and labelling specimens. Dr Marco Pavia will take full responsibility for the safe-keeping of the material(whilst on loan) and will return these specimens on the agreed date.
