Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

The development will entail the establishment of staff accommodation facilities, camping facilities, day visitor facilities and the upgrade of existing water infrastructure. The project deliverable comprise the following: Deliverable A: Staff Accommodation 1: One (1) housing unit consisting of two (2) bedrooms, with backyard laundry and braai area. Deliverable B: Staff Accommodation 2: Nine (9) bachelor units that sleeps two (2) with private backyard wash-up and braai area. Staff accommodation inclusive of a storage and laundry facility, communal area and all external works. Deliverable C: Recreational Areas: A day visitor facility and camping facility adjacent the current office facilities inclusive of all external works. Day visitor facilities and camping facilities will comprise of the following: • 30 braai -stands, 1 communal ablution / kitchenette facility, planting of lawn areas. • 25-stand camping site, with braai stands, water reticulation and electricity, planting of grass and 4 communal ablution and kitchenette facilities.

Expanded_Motivation: 

The Basic Assessment Report (BAR) and EMPr for the proposed upgrade and development at Lekgalameetse Nature Reserve (DEA reference nr. - 14/12/16/3/3/1/1378), will be made available for your perusal on request. The following process will be followed: 1. Interested and Affected Parties to submit comments on the BAR by 13th April 2015. 2. After the 30 days, the BAR will be amended with the comments received (if any), and be submitted to the National of Environmental Affairs. 3. The DEA must within 107 days of the receipt of the BAR, reach a decision and within five (5) days provide an answer to the Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP). 4. All Interested and Affected Parties (I&APs) will be notified of the department’s decision within 14 days.
