ProposalDescription:

Baobab Mining and Exploration (Pty) Ltd applied for an Amendment to the Makhado Colliery Environmental Authorisation on 16 March 2021 to extend the validity period thereof. The Amendment if for the removal of Condition 7.1 contained in the Environmental Authorisation granted on 30 August 2013 (SAHRA case 95) by the Limpopo Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (LEDET) which deals with the obligation to commence within a certain time. The said condition was removed by the DMRE since "that section is repealed from the EIA Regulations and is not going to be enforced by the Competent Authority".
