Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Expanded_Motivation: 

Construction phase: The construction phase will commence upon granting of the Mining Permit application. The mine site will be established during this phase whereby the dedicated areas will be demarcated. These include the temporary waste dump area, the temporary topsoil storage area, the Mine Residue Dam area, the plant and processing area and the mobile office area. This phase is expected to be complete within one month of granting of the Mining Permit application. Operational phase: The operational phase will be conducted in five phases. The mining area has been divided in five mining blocks. Each mining block will be mined out and rehabilitated before mining will commence in the next mining block. The planned mining rate is 87 100 tonnes / quarter and the processing rate is 43 550 tonnes / quarter. Decommissioning phase: The decommissioning phase will only commence once all five the mining blocks have been mined out and rehabilitated. During decommissioning all mining related infrastructure will be removed from the site and final rehabilitation of the disturbed areas will take place. Once final rehabilitation has taken place, Westinryk will apply for a closure certificate.
