Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Sams Paradise (Pty) Ltd has applied for an Environmental Authorisation for proposed Mining activities in respect of Sand Silica (General) on a 2.1ha of land of the farm Dry Lands 718MS, in the Magisterial District of Vhembe, Limpopo Province, South Africa. The area was previously used by locals for grazing both cattle and goats and also for maize farming. A walk through as part of Basic assessment Report (BAR) was undertaken and no grave or any object of heritage value was identified. Local community was also engaged and they indicated that the area was never used for graves. The equipment that will be used for this project will be a TLB for loading sand into a tipper truck. The project will take place in Limpopo Province.

Expanded_Motivation: 

Sam Paradise (Pty) Ltd is proposing to establish a building Sand mine (Sand Silica General) at Maaname Paradise ( Luvhalani) on a tribal land on Farm Part of Drylands 718 MS in the Magisterial District of Vhembe, Limpopo Province. The mining area will cover 2.1ha of the footprint. The goal of the project is to provide building sand for various projects including construction, building, Infrastructural and earthworks including linear structures, cut and fill or excavations. The estimated Volume of sand that can be mined is about (85345.36M³). A Tipper truck/truck and TLB shall be used on site. The neighbouring village to the mining site is Luvhalani Village and it is ideal to offer employment to this community. No permanant infrastructure will be placed on site; sand will be mined and ready to be transported to various destinations.
