Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Notice is hereby given as required in terms of Section 16(4) (b) of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (Act No. 28 of 2002) of the submission and acceptance of a prospecting right application by the Regional Manager: Mineral Regulation of the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE), Northern Cape Region with reference number: NC 30/5’1/1/2/13195 PR. Ditharo Holdings to obtain authorization from the DMRE to undertake prospecting activities for Copper, Zinc, Lead ore, Uranium ore and Rare Earth Minerals submits the application.

Expanded_Motivation: 

Samorite (Pty) Ltd is appointed as the independent Environmental Assessment Practitioners (EAP) to evaluate the possible environmental impacts associated with the proposed prospecting activities. Such impacts will be recorded in an Environmental Management Plan (“EMP”) in accordance with Regulation 52 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Regulations, which is to be submitted to the DMRE for consideration. One of the first responsibilities of the EAP is to conduct a stakeholder consultation process that offers landowners or lawful occupiers and interested and/or affected parties (I&AP’s) the opportunity to voice their opinions and concerns in this regard and to establish communication channels between landowners, lawful occupiers, other I&AP’s and the Prospecting Company (Ditharo Holdings). In terms of the Minerals and Petroleum Resources Development Act (MPRDA), Act No. 28 of 2002, all mineral rights reverted to the state from May 2004 when the Act commenced. This prospecting right application is submitted to the Regional Manager: Mineral Regulation of the Northern Cape Region Provincial DMRE.
