Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Beeshoek Iron Ore Mine (hereafter referred to as Beeshoek) will be submitting an application to consolidate the existing Environmental Management Programmes and Plans (EMPs) in terms of Regulation 982.

Expanded_Motivation: 

Beeshoek Iron Ore Mine (hereafter referred to as Beeshoek) will be submitting an application to consolidate the existing Environmental Management Programmes and Plans (EMPs) in terms of Regulation 982. A meeting was held at the Department of Mineral and Resources (DMR) offices on 22 September 2016 to discuss the opportunity to combine the EMPs. Subsequent to this, the applicant submitted a motivation document on 23 September 2016 to the DMR officially requesting this process. Response was received from the DMR on 14 November 2016 concurring the process and specifically requesting that the applicant must make sure that all the previous Record of Decisions and Conditions form part of the consolidation. The applicant is now required to prepare a Section 102 application and an Environmental Management Plan (EMP) to the DMR for consideration.
