Development Type:

ProposalDescription:

Draft Basic Assessment and Environmental Management Programme (BAR/EMPr) Report for the proposed prospecting of Chrome, Copper, Lead, Lithium, Rare Earths, Silicon, Tungsten, Uranium, Zinc, Manganese and Iron ore on farms Simondium No.308, Constatia No.309, Olive Pan No.282, Gama No.283, Telele No.312, Goold No.329, Smuts No.364, Picardy No.360, and Rivera No.335, within the Administrative District of Kuruman, Northern Cape Province.

Expanded_Motivation:

The proposed prospecting project will consist of non-invasive and invasive (drilling sampling) activities. On the surface, invasive methods include a total of 35 Reverse Circulation (RC) and diamond core drill boreholes. There are mining activities already taking place in the application area. Kudumane Manganese Resources (Pty) Ltd and Kgalagadi Resources (Pty) Ltd both have existing rights in the application area. These companies have conducted heritage resources and biodiversity studies, for that reason the EAP’s view is that TSX Mining (the applicant), be exempted from conducting heritage and biodiversity studies as those have already been conducted and also based on the fact that the application is only for drilling and no trenching/pitting will be done.
