Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

This notice to all interested and affected parties is published in terms of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (Act 28 of 2002), National Environmental Management Act (Act No 107 of 1998) as amended in April 2017, The National Environmental Management Waste Act, 2008 and the National Water Act, 1998 (Act No. 36 of 1998). An Integrated Scoping & Environmental Impact Assessment Reporting (S&EIR) is being conducted for the Environmental Authorisation Application, Waste Management Licence Application (WMLA) and Water Use License application for the mining right application lodged by Oikonomia Granite (Pty) Ltd. Description: The project is referred to as the Oikonomia, the applicant Oikonomia has lodged a mining right on the portion 181, 853, 854, 855, 856, 857 and 1098 of the farm Hartebeestpoort ‘’C’’ 419 JQ, all located approximately 5 km north of Brits Town, Madibeng Local Municipality, Bojanala District Municipality in North West Province. The proposed mining operation will involve mining of (according to the MPRDA acceptance letter) DIMENSION STONE (GENERAL), DIORITE/SYENITE, GABBRO/NORITE AND GRANITE/SYENITE using truck and shovel opencast mine using traditional mining tools such as articulated truck and hydraulic shovel. The extent of the area applied for covers approximately 373.230119 Hectares. The project area is represented in the figure below. The life of mine (LoM) is estimated at 30 (thirty) years.
