Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Proposed electrification of 295 households in various villages in Libode. The capacity of the powerline which will supply the customers is 22kilovolts, which is not a listed activity according to the NEM;Environmental Impact Assessment regulations 2014 as amended. The project is located in Libode , under Nyandeni Local Municipality, Eastern Cape province. The villages are listed below as well as the Poweline length in each village -Chibini Village : 339 meter - Kwayalela Village:677 - Chibini B : 1085 - Ngcolorha : 1451

Expanded_Motivation: 

The access to electricity is a basic right for all South African citizens. There is a growth in the number of people building their homes as the young people are growing up and leaving home for their independence. The growth in the number of households requires that there be an extension of Eskom electrical infrastructure in order to fullfill the basic need of humans which is access to electricity.
