ProposalDescription:

Permit application to film at Sterkfontein Caves

Expanded_Motivation:

I'm working for a TV show called Authentiek (that's how we spell the name of the show) which is an Afrikaans travel show airing on SABC 2. We are currently busy with the planning and pre-production for season 2 of show which will start airing on 4 November 2019. The aim of the show is to visit some interesting places in South Africa and to hopefully show and feature a few hidden gems that people may not be aware of. The presenter of the show is Mathys Roets who is a well known musician, but he is also paraplegic who still loves to travel and does not shy away from adventure. In each episode Mathys has a friend & fellow musician with him and they will travel together and do some exploration in a specific part of SA. One of the places we would like to explore in one of the episodes is the Crade of Humankind and to visit the Sterkfontein caves. Ideally we would like to visit and film this on Monday, 14 October. Our film crew has 7 people consisting of 2 presenters, 2 cameramen, soundman, director and an assistant. The filming shouldn't take more than 2 hours and basically our 2 presenters will be just like any other visitors who are shown around the caves. We would like someone to take our presenters on a tour and show them around, talk about the history and the paleontological and archaeological discoveries that make the Sterkfontein caves and the Cradle of Humankind in general so famous and important.
