Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Goldwind New Energy South Africa (Pty) Ltd, is proposing the development of a Concrete Tower Manufacturing Facility and Precast Facility (CTMPF), and associated Infrastructure to service the authorised Sutherland Cluster of Wind Energy Facilities (WEFs) namely, Sutherland WEF (DFFE Ref:12/12/20/1782/2); Sutherland 2 WEF (DFFE Ref:12/12/20/1782/3) and Rietrug WEF (DFFE Ref:12/12/20/1782/1) in the Northern Cape Province.

Expanded_Motivation: 

The Sutherland and Rietrug WEFs have been selected as preferred bidder projects in Bid window 5 of the REIPPP and have been registered as Strategic Integrated Projects (SIPs) whereas the Sutherland 2 WEF has been selected as preferred bidder via private procurement process. The proposed Concrete Tower Manufacturing and Precast Facility to service the WEFs will be located 2km away from the access gate to the Sutherland and Rietrug WEFs and will use internal access road to access the Sutherland 2 WEF site. The CTMPF will service the authorised WEF cluster during the construction phase to manufacture concrete tower sections (keystones) which will be used for off-site assembly of wind turbine towers of the authorised WEFs. In preparation for the commencement of construction activities, the Applicant has identified a suitable location for the development of the Concrete Tower Manufacturing and Precast Facility that will service the Sutherland Cluster Wind Energy Facilities (WEFs). The proposed facility and associated Infrastructure are to be located on Portion 1 of Farm Nooitgedagt No.148 within the Namakwa District Municipality of the Karoo Hoogland Local Municipality, approximately 40km away from the town of Sutherland, Northern Cape Province.
