Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Expanded_Motivation: 

The purpose of the submission is to provide written notification to South African Heritage Resources (SAHRA) and Provincial Heritage Resources Authority Gauteng (PHRAG) of the public participation process being undertaken for an Environmental Authorisation (EA) application, pertaining to the proposed increase in pig processing capacity at the abattoir situated on Portion 88 of the Farm Langkuil 363 IR, Meyerton, Midvaal local municipality, Gauteng Province. New Style Pork (Pty) Ltd, the applicant appointed Environmental Assurance (Pty) Ltd (ENVASS) as the Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) to facilitate the Basic Assessment (BA) application process required by the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations, 2014 (GN. R.326 as amended in 2017) and published in terms of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998) (as amended) (NEMA). The proposed project is situated on Portion 88 of the Farm Langkuil 363 IR, Meyerton and within the jurisdiction of the Midvaal Local Municipality and the Sedibeng District Municipality in the Gauteng Province. The applicant is proposing to increase the slaughter capacity of pigs from 7000 to 15 000 per week as part of their operations. In addition, the applicant proposes to construct the following: • Pig holding facility. • Truck Parking bays. • Security office at the entrance to the site. • Weighbridge for the weighing of pigs • Washbay for the washing of trucks.
