Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Expanded_Motivation: 

Len van Schalkwyk acting on behalf of Mr Rod Stainton of Rokwil Developments (t.a. Keystone Park cc) wishes to apply for a permit to exhume the mortal remains of one Eric Gardener (1889 – 1965) on the farm previously known as Emerald Hill, at Hammersdale, and reinter such remains at a nearby Municipal Cemetery. Emerald Hill Farm is located on Rem of Ptn 1 of Farm Bartlett No 16387, Hammersdale, eThekweni Municipality (Outer West). This exhumation is required due to proposed commercial and industrial developments on the land holding which will impact negatively on the sanctity of the grave site. This to be undertaken with due regard to all requirements of Amafa (in terms of the KZN Heritage Act), COGTA (in terms of the Graves and Crematoria Act) and any stipulations by the eThekweni Municipality.
