ProposalDescription:

Rescue permit application for human remains accidentally exposed during construction work along Road R37 at Driekop in Fetakgomo -Tubatse Local Municipality, Limpopo Province

Expanded_Motivation:

This application is for a rescue permit to salvage human remains exposed during construction along Road R37 at Driekop in Limpopo Province. The matter requires urgent attention since the remains are at the danger of being washed away by erosion during the coming rain season. Temporary measures have been put to protect the chance find site but given excessive erosion at the site, we are afraid that the site may be washed away. The chance find has stalled the road construction near a critical intersection and if not dealt with urgently it may result in potential accidents and traffic jams on a daily basis. We have consulted the traditional authority and SAPS and they have since confirmed that no family is linked to the exposed remains. Our public consultations have not yielded any information regarding the remains and the traditional authority has consented to the relocation of the remains to a safer place.
